Francis L. Roddy, age 84, of Colonie, NY died on December 20, 2015. Born in Albany, he was the son of Luke E. and Mary C. (Grogan) Roddy.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Esther (DonVito) Roddy, to whom he was married for 55 years, a son, Thomas M. Roddy, and an infant brother, John Roddy. He is survived by his children Katherine M. Kenworthy (Don Waldbillig), John F. Roddy (Jean Marie), Theresa R. Minissale (Frank), Francis L. Roddy Jr. (Debbie Martino), Bernard P. Roddy (Sandra), Nicholas E. Roddy (Kristina) and eight grandchildren.

Frank was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament School, Vincentian Institute, Siena College (BS - cum laude, and MBA), RPI Management Development School, and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He served in the U.S. Army (1953-1955) in assignments both within the United States and Japan.

An extensive 36 year banking career with Key Bank began in 1958 as a Management Trainee and culminated as an Executive Vice President.

Frank was an enthusiastic fan and supporter of Siena basketball, Notre Dame football, and the New York Yankees. He will be remembered as a determined and hardworking family man who expected as much of himself as he did of others. A leader who strived to bring out the best in people, he was known for his attention to detail, generosity, and commitment to community service. Frank was an active member of Siena College, having served from 1979 - 1998 as Trustee and Chairman of the Board. In 1990, he was awarded the Rev. Benjamin Kuhn, OFM award for contribution to the college community. Additionally, he served with the United Way of Northeastern New York between 1984 – 1996 as General Campaign Chairman, Director, Treasurer, Vice Chair, and Chair of the Board. Frank was also active with the New York State Bankers Association, having served as past chairman of the Consumer Banking Division and Member of Consumer Banking Division Executive Committee.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Frank’s family Tuesday, December 22, 2015 4:00 to 6:00 pm in the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany.

Funeral services Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 12:15 pm from the McVeigh Funeral Home thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 1:00 pm where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will immediately follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
