Maxine Gillespie Depuy AVON, Ind. Maxine Gillespie Depuy, 93, of Avon, Ind., formerly of Charleston and Greenup, died Tuesday (Feb. 7, 2006) at a hospital in Avon Indiana. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Avon United Methodist Church in Avon, Ind. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Saturday until service time at the church. The Conkle Funeral Home, in Avon, Ind., is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Jan. 19, 1913, in Greenup, daughter of Clem and Georgia Shelton. She married Chancy Gillespie in 1931. She later married Harold Depuy; he preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, James Gillespie of Monooka; a daughter, Velma Berry of Avon, Ind.; a stepson, Dan Depuy of Lebanon, Ind.; a sister, Wanda Sipole of Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter and two sisters. Mrs. Depuy retired from Link Belt in Indianapolis. She was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church, in Avon, Ind. Memorials may be made to the Church.
