Elizabeth Lemmons was born July 2, 1828, in Tennessee, moving to Iowa with her people at the age of eight years; died Thursday, February 13, 1902. She was married to Joel J. Pringle, November, 27, 1851, at Rock Creek church two and a half miles west of Richland. Her husband and companion departed this life about fifteen years ago, since which time she has made her home with her son Charles. Since her marriage up to the time of her death she has lived on what has become known as the Grandma Pringle farm two and a half miles east of Richland.

Mrs. Pringle was the mother of eight children, five of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Cloe Kirby, Beloit, Kansas; Amos. L. Pringle, Carroll, Iowa; Margaret Hesseltine, Funk, Neb.; Levi Pringle, Mason City, Neb.; Charles Pringle, Richland, Iowa. The children were all present at the funeral except Levi who was unable to come. In early life she gave herself to Christ and was a faithful member of the Bethel U.B. church up to the time of her death.
