Wilda J. Selfridge, 97 of Curwensville formerly of Clearfield passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the home of her daughter.
Mrs. Selfridge was born February 13, 1914 in Clearfield, the daughter of Hoad Angus and Adda (Carr) Fletcher.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Selfridge was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield.
She was a former volunteer at the Clearfield Hospital.
Mrs. Fletcher was an avid Elk watcher and enjoyed going to the Fletcher Camp.
She is survived by two children: Theodore A. Selfridge and his wife Judy of, South Burlington, VT. and Connie Coons and her husband Bob of Curwensville, six grandchildren: Ritch Selfridge and his wife Tami of Bainbridge, NY, Valerie Selfridge Wennar and her husband Todd of Milton, VT, Ed Coons, Debi Shope and her husband Jay, Dawna Wheeler and her husband Rick, Bobbi Coons all of Curwensville, eleven great grandchildren and a brother, Kenneth "Son" Fletcher and his wife Mickey of Colfax, CA, two sister-in-laws; Helen Fletcher and Nancy Fletcher and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Selfridge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Theodore R. "Ted" Selfridge whom she married on June 5, 1934 and who passed away on October 17, 1993, brothers; Fred Fletcher, Marl "Mike" Fletcher, Bob Fletcher, Orvis "Biff" Fletcher, O'Dell Fletcher, Verle Fletcher and a sister: Amy Danver, one brother-in-law; James "Bump" Danver; and two sisters-in-laws: Dorothy Fletcher and Lenora Fletcher.
Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9PM.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the St. John Lutheran Church of Clearfield on Monday, April 18, 2011 with Pastor David Letscher officiating.
Interment will be in the Centre Cemetery of Hyde.
The family suggests that contributions be made to the St. John Lutheran Church, 217 East Pine Street, Clearfield, PA 16830, PA Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, P.O. Box 311, Montrose, PA 18801 or the charity of donor's choice.
