Delia Grace Abaray, November 19, 2015 - January 24, 2016. The angels rejoiced as they welcomed our beautiful Delia Grace home after a brief, unexpected illness. She passed in the arms of her loving parents, Damon and Elizabeth (Nimnicht) Abaray of Nashville, TN. Delia Grace was so strong. She had bright blue eyes and a smile that could melt your heart. She was the happiest baby, and she brought so much joy to our lives. She never knew anything but love and happiness. Not many people get to live in this world and only know love and happiness.
Delia Grace shared a beautiful bond with her big brothers, Michael, Isaac and Liam. They simply adored her, doting on her and helping care for her. Her brothers would argue over which one gets to marry Delia Grace. Five-year-old Michael wanted her name to be "Violet." She was his "Beautiful Flower." Four-year-old Isaac always asked to hold her and get his picture taken with his "Delia Gracie." Two-year-old Liam would run in every morning to see his "Baby" and give her kisses. They are happy that Delia Grace gets to be an angel now, flying in heaven.
Before she passed, we asked our sweet girl to come to us in rainbows, butterflies and the warmth of the sun. So, we'll all be seeing a lot of Delia Grace. Heaven sent her to us to love and care for. For 9 weeks and 3 days, God allowed her to change our lives and bring us immeasurable joy.
It is our hope that in her passing, others might take more time to enjoy their families and loved ones, to live in the moment and soak in the laughter and smiles, and to seek kindness always.
In addition to her parents and big brothers, Delia Grace is survived by her great-grandmother Charlotte Joan Creech and grandparents Bill and Becky (Creech) Nimnicht and Mike and Mary (Pauwels) Abaray, all of Evansville, IN. She is also survived by uncles and aunts Eric Nimnicht, Katy Nimnicht (Mike Drone), Brian Nimnicht (Karen Guzman), Noah Abaray, and Emily (Abaray) Milligan (Josh) as well as first cousins Andrew Nimnicht, Lauren Milligan, Alex and Lynzie Drone, and Gabe, Victoria and Cecilia Guzman. Delia Grace leaves behind a large extended family, all of whom loved her dearly.
