Howard "Neal" Alsobrooks was born on August 25, 1935 in Houston County, Tennessee, the son of Roy Lee Alsobrooks (1900–1987) and Lela Edna (Averitt) Alsobrooks (1901–1989).
He was married to Janice Bledsoe and was a US Marine Corps veteran as well as a member of Clarksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years where he served as an elder.
A resident of Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee, Neal was 80 years old when he passed away at Gateway Medical Center on January 25, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sisters Lucile (Alsobrooks) Mobley and Juanita "Tootsie" (Alsobrooks) Simpson. Survivors included his wife, two married sons, a married daughter, brother and six grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services were held at Clarksville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and burial was in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
