Milton Deloy Andersen, 92, passed away peacefully after a long and valiant fight with cancer. He passed away at the home of his daughter, Gina Kay Smith in Boise, ID on Jan 11, 2016. Deloy, as he was known to many, was born November 5, 1923 in Overton, NV to Thomas Milton Andersen and Annie Gertrude Rohner Andersen.

When Deloy was just a young man of 19, he joined the US Armed Forces in the US Army Air Corp, which later became the US Air Force. He learned how to pilot airplanes and was the pilot of B-17's during WWII, completing 35 bombing missions and bringing his crew and their plane back safely each time. During the Korean War, Deloy flew what he called "cloak and dagger" missions, which he never talked much of. He left the military in 1953. Deloy returned to Overton after his time in WWII, and soon met Eva Wynona (Nonie) Kellar. They married in the home of his parents on March 10, 1946. They were later sealed on February 17, 1947 in the St. George Temple. To this union they brought six children; four boys and two girls.

Deloy and Nonie owned and operated Andersen's Nursery and Floral until their first of two missions to the Philippines, where they served and loved the people of the Philippines. They brought many inactive back into the Gospel. In 2011 Deloy decided to move to Boise, ID to live with his daughter Gina and her family; where Gina could get him to and from the necessary Doctors in his continued fight with skin cancer.

Deloy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings. He loved his time spent in the Temple. Dad always shared his deep love for Jesus Christ and was a perfect example of enduring to the end. Even when cancer took his eyesight and much of his face, he met each day with a smile. He often said this little poem. “Tis easy enough to be pleasant, when life flows along like a song; But the man worth while is the one who will smile when everything goes dead wrong.” - Ella Wheeler WIlcox.

Deloy is survived by 6 children: Terry (Connie) of Anaheim, CA, Stephen (Susan) of Lancaster, OH; David (Kaylene) of Overton, NV; Laurel (Jim) of Saratoga Springs, UT; Dean (Susan) of Mapleton, UT and Gina (Jerry) of Boise, ID; 35 Grandchildren (23 which have spouses) and 65 Great Grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his sweetheart, Eva Wynona; his parents; 3 sisters; one brother; a daughter-in-law Jo Leigh Petersen Andersen (David) and one Great Grand Daughter, Sarai Ross.

Dad will be missed greatly by his family and friends who loved him deeply. He leaves behind a rich legacy deeply rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Dad was also very patriotic and loved his country and the American Flag. We are so grateful that Families are Forever.

Services will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 in the Overton LDS Chapel at 12:00 pm. A viewing will be help prior to the service from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guestbook at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
