Jerome Jerry D. Connis, 29, of Binghamton, passed away February 18, 2002 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. Erica M. Connis, his beloved wife since September 21, 1994 survives. Also surviving are his father, Lawrence Connis, Binghamton; his mother, Cleone Hanyon, Hallstead, Pa.; a sister, Caroline Connis, Hallstead, Pa.; a mother-in-law, Virginia Wren; two brothers-in-law, Gary Wren, Fla., Larry Wren, Hallstead; a sister-in-law, Lorie Grady, Ark.; and several aunts and uncles. Jerry was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, Vestal, N.Y. He was a 1991 graduate of Blue Ridge High School. He was employed by Vocational Rehabilitation Services where he was a material handler and group leader. He was a long distance runner for Special Olympics and won two Gold Medals in Washington D.C. He enjoyed downhill skiing. Funeral services will be held at Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, 5 Susquehanna Ave., Hallstead, Pa. at 2 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2002 with Reverend Harmon Manderville officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Valley Cemetery, Liberty Township, Pa. The family will receive callers from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials in honor of Jerome Connis may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, N.Y. 14601.
