Mrs. Stella M. Johnson, 76, died this morning at a local rest home following a lengthy illness. She had resided at the rest home the past several years.
Born at Trenton, Mrs. Johnson had resided in St. Joseph most of her life. A member of the Atchison, Kan., Methodist Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob C. Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Harold V. Cornell, St. Joseph; a son, Charles E. Smith, San Antonio, Tex.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
