Kenneth "Ken" Brister, 79, of Jayess, MS, died January 25, 2016 at Franklin County Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be Thursday at Jones Family Funeral Services from 11:00 AM until services at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the New Bethel Jesus Name Church Cemetery. Rev. Larry Reed will officiate. Jones Family Funeral Home will handle the arrangements.

Mr. Brister was born on October 5, 1936 in Mississippi. He was the son of Odie Brister and Hettie Brewer Brister.

He was self-employed. He was a member of New Bethel Jesus Name Church. He was a devoted husband a loving father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was known as the handyman to the community, helping anyone in need of fixing things.

Mr. Brister was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Tina Denise Brister and Tracy Williams; three brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lambert Brister of Jayess; three daughters, Karen Wallace and husband Robert of Jayess, Rebecca Casey and husband Brad of South Haven, and Dr. Lori Brister of Washington, DC; one son, Billy Brister and wife Pam of Summit; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
