Minnie was born in Pt. Arena, California in 1891. She was one of six children born to Joseph and Amanda (Clay)Bishop: Eva, Alfred, Byron, Helen, and Hal. She married Frank Lindsay Nash, a produce broker, in 1913. They had two children: Frank Leroy Nash, 1915-2009 who married Virginia Gildea in 1940; Marijane Nash, 1919-1989 who married Richard Edwin Arnold in 1939. Frank Nash died in 1943. In 1947 she married Mike Hal Pegues, 1902-1978. Minnie was educated at San Francisco Normal School (now San Francisco State), and San Jose State. She was a first grade teacher for many years. Her first teaching job was in the one-room school house in Manchester, California.
