Ruby Mae Beverley Watson, 89, widower of William J. Watson, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the home of her son and daughter in law.She was born on August 5, 1926 in North Garden, Va., a daughter of the late Pal Steeles and Lotha Beverley.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon, William, and Aubrey Beverly; and by a sister, Ruth Beverly.

She was a member of the Staunton Senior Center, where she was known as the queen of dominoes and enjoyed bingo. In her spare time she loved to demonstrate her creativity by painting landscapes. She was a member of the Cherry Avenue Christian Church.

Surviving are her son and his wife, Wayne W. and Judy Davis of Churchville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Davis and Angela George of Harrisonburg, Ginger and Kevin Fix of Churchville, and Kelly of Charlottesville; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan and Kevin Fix, and Reagan George-Davis.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Hill and Wood Funeral Home with Mr. Scott Carter and Mr. Stan Martin officiating on Wednesday January 27, 2015. Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be Butch, Donnie, Page, and Billy Beverley, Jim Carpenter and Warren Mawyer.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Hospice of the Piedmont at 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911 or online at www.hopva.org.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hillandwood.com.
