She was a member of the Business Women's Garden Club, Arkansas Council of Garden Clubs, Past President of Business and Professional Women's and Past President of the Pilots Club and Wadley Ladies Auxillary. She is survived by her husband, Geza Louis "Guy" Monek, two step-children, Larkin Hood of Goldthwaite, TX and Dora Monek of Austin, TX; one brother, Guy Sanders of Texarkana, AR; one sister, Georgia Slack of Wake Village, TX; her care-giver, Dorothy Williams and niece Jeri Elder and several other nieces and nephews. Services for Mrs. Monek will be Saturday at 11 A.M. at Fuqua-Everett Memorial Chapel, Texarkana Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Tingle officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 6:30 P.M. at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Blvd..
