Richard (Dick) Robert Bollenberg, age 84, of Bonneau Beach, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on August 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Omer Peter Bollenberg and Madeline Vandingenen Bollenberg from Belgium. Richard Bollenberg was baptized into Christ in 1972 and attended Victory Christian Church.
Mr. Richard Bollenberg loved aeronautics and was a gifted horticulturist. He loved the United States Air Force and honorably dedicated his career serving his country. Duty tours included Korea, as a jet mechanic. He served at Charleston Air Force Base as a crew chief working on C-141 between the years of 1977 through 1996. He enjoyed being outdoors and was a hard working provider for his family. He enjoyed the majority of his life living in the south.
Surviving are, his wife Michaelle (Mickey) Masteller Bollenberg; daughter, Georgette Vandenboss and her husband, Gary Vandenboss of McBain, Michigan, daughter Kelly Kathleen Bollenberg Tavelle and her husband James Jefferey Tavelle of Bonneau Beach; son Mathew Lee Bollenberg and his wife Tabatha Owens Bollenberg of West Ashely; son Luke Daniel Bollenberg and his wife Heather Lee Gillespie Bollenberg of Moncks Corner; son Mark Howard Bollenberg and wife Michelle Ruth McPherson Bollenberg of Bonneau.
Surviving are his brothers; Roger Bollenberg (deceased) and widow Lorriane Bollenberg and their children William, Jimmy and Edward Bollenberg; Raymond Edward Bollenberg and wife Sharon Bollenberg and their children Steven(deceased), David, Jeffrey, and Kenneth Bollenberg of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; Ronald Omer Bollenberg and his children Michael and Sean Bolleneberg of East Pointe, Michigan; Robert Michael Bollenberg and wife Jeanne Strathman Bollenberg and children Rebecca Susan Bollenberg Young, Benjamin Finkel, and Rachel Finkel of Honor, Michigan; 15 grandchildren: Gary Lee Vandenboss, Gail Marie Vandenboss Cook, Madeline Jo Tavelle Schoppe, James Jeffery Tavelle, Jr., Tyler Michaelle Tavelle, Tabitha Lavene Tavelle, Allie Katlynn Bollenberg, Elyse Lee Bollenberg, Leah May Bollenberg, Brody Michael Bollenberg, Benjamin Fisher Bollenberg, Lilly Grace Bollenberg, Noah Ethan Bollenberg, Lucy Elizabeth Sawadske, Marina Lynn Bollenberg; 8 great grandchildren: Riley Vandenboss, Logan Vandenboss, Careline Cook, Cassidy Cook, Clara Cook, Coleman Cook, Adam Schoppe, and Eli Schoppe.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at 6:30 p.m. at Victory Christian Church, 521 Goose Creek Blvd., Goose Creek, SC 29445.
