Eva Fern Meadows, age 93, of Aurora passed away at 6:00 a.m. on February 24, 2010 at the Aurora Nursing Center. She was born June 17, 1916 in Bluff, Missouri, the daughter of Richard and Mae Bell (Dewitt) Meadows. She was a 1933 graduate of Forsyth High School and received her teaching certificate from Southwest Missouri State Teachers College.
Eva taught for the Meadows School in Walnut Shade, on Bull Creek in Taney County. After teaching she also worked as a secretary, a hairdresser, and for many years as a domestic assistant for a family in Kansas City.
Those surviving her include: four nieces: Bonnie Voss and her husband, Jim, Saddlebrooke, Missouri, Wanda Stephens and her husand, Bill, Galena, Missori, Diane Victor and her husband, Jerry, Shore Acres, Texas and Martha Quesenberry and her husband, Basil, Cabool, Missouri; one nephew, David Haskett, and his wife, Pam, Yorktown, Virginia; a niece-in-law, Yvonne Glover, Warner, Oklahoma.
Her perents, two sisters, Clysta Cleo Haskett and Lena Chloe Glover, and nephew, Wade Glover, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home with burial at the Maple Park Cemetery.
On behalf of the family of Eva, they would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the Aurora community for their friendship and kindness during her 35 years of residency.
