He was a member of First Baptist Church of Warren and also a member of Masonic Lodge No. 33 F & AM in Warren, and Scottish Rites of Little Rock, 32nd Degree. He was a manager of Lawton Wholesale Meat Company of Warren from 1955 to 1969. He served as a Justice of the Peace and Quorum Court member for 10 years in Bradley County. He entered the Arkansas Army National Guard in Warren in 1948 as a PFC with the 206 Tank Battalion. Later he attended Command & General Staff College, becoming a Second Lieutenant in 1968. He served in 3rd Battalion 153rd Infantry, 39th Infantry Brigade as Training Operations Maintenance Officer for the State. He completed his career at Camp Robinson over Central State Maintenance Shop (CSMS) after 40 years of service, retiring as Lt. Col., with military honors of Meritous Service medal and Arkansas Commendation Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David "Doc" W. Sedberry and Dorothy Hunter Sedberry; a sister, Dorothy Mae Sedberry; and two brothers, Harry Eugene Sedberry and Edward Lee Sedberry.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtie J. Lawton Sedberry of North Little Rock; a son, David R. Sedberry of North Little Rock; a sister, Mary E. "Beth" Roberts of Beebe; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Oakland Cemetery in Warren under the direction of Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.
