Services for Charles Henry Benefiel, 82 years old, who died Saturday morning in Joplin General hospital wher he had been taken Friday morning after suffering a broken hip in his Seneca home, will be at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon in Seneca Methodist Church. The Rev. Robert Hood will officate and burial will be in Seneca Cemetery, Seneca, Newton County, Missiouri under direction of the Biddlecome Funeral Home 1101 Cherokee Ave Seneca, Missouri 64865. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Charles was born March 4, 1879, in Exline, Iowa the son of Isaac Newton and Elsa Wider Shaw Benefiel. Charles married Minnie Marie Walter and they had several children. Charles married Mary M. Baird Wolf on September 5, 1928 in Lipscomb, Liscomb County, Texas. They didn't have any children. Charles had lived in Seneca, Missouri since 1944, and was a member of Seneca Methodist Church
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary benefiel; four sons, Lawrence Benefiel of Southwest City, Missouri, Clarence Benefiel of Carthage, Missouri, Roy Benefiel of Norborne, Missouri, and Lester Benefiel of Noel; three daughters, Mrs Berta Hart, Mrs. Marie Howerton and Mrs. Wilma Perry of Noel, Missiour; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Letha Schlarb of Chester, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Lulu Patterson of Fairview, Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. Helen Gradwell of Exline, Iowa, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
