BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services to honor the life of Mr. Lester Long LaCour, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2016, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Robert Batchelor. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Lester was born on June 7, 1933, and passed away on January 18, 2016. He was born in Selma, LA and graduated from Jena High School.
Mr. Lester was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. In later years, hunting and fishing took a "back seat" to crossword puzzles and playing Skip Bo. Lester was a member of Overcoming Faith Church, a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and always put the needs of others first. He will be deeply missed!
Mr. Lester is preceded in death by his son, Duane LaCour; brother, Rev. Laymon LaCour; step-brother, Edward Beckwith; and parents, Boyce T. and Mary L. LaCour. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 59 years, Pearl LaCour; sons, Reggie LaCour and wife Rita, and Lowal LaCour; daughter, Pam Spayth and husband Tom; grandchildren, Ryan and Ronnie LaCour, and Seth and Colton Spayth; great-grandson, Nate LaCour; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
