ODESSA Roy Davis, age 89 of Odessa, TX passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born on June 27, 1925 in Bolivar, Missouri to Roy Lee Davis and Zola Dunaway. Roy served his country as a Marine during World War II. He served in the 4th Division on Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. After his military service he graduated from Columbia Bible College in South Carolina. He was a Baptist Minister in Hawaii, Missouri and in Iowa. In Iowa he later became a Nursing Home Administrator. He was married for 55 years to Shirley Davis, and 12 years to Sharon Mearse Davis.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 5 sisters.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 6pm-8pm at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Byron McWilliams and Curtis Brewer officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
