Michael's mother was Hannah Sullivan Lowney who was sister to Eugene F. Sullivan (grandfather of Teresa Sullivan). About 1900, the oldest child, John, went to Butte, Montana to work in the copper mines. He contracted miners lung disease and came home and all the rest of the family got it from him. I guess it was like TB. Only the youngest kids grew to adulthood. There were 13 all together.
