Samuel Nelson Gillespie, 65, of Weitchpec died Tuesday morning in a San Mateo Hospital. He was born in California on May 2, 1889. He was a postmaster in Weitchpec.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline Gillespie; two sons, Cornelius Gillespie of Inglewood, Darrell Gillepie of Weitchpecl two daughters, Mrs. Veta Mitchell of Weitchpec, Mrs. Viva Aiello of San Francisco; two brothers, Amos Gillespie of Ferndale, Edbird Gillespie of Bandon, Ore.; five sisters, Mrs. Mae Jessel of Ashland, Ore.; Mrs. Grace Rusk of Fortuna, Rachel Gillespie of Fortuna, Mrs. Stella Kellerer of Eureka, Mr. Mary McClelland of Eureka, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cooper Mortuary Chapel of the Ferns with the Rev. Bert E. Weeks officiating. Interment will follow in Ocean View Cemetery.
