She was born in Ellwood City, on April 9, 1926 to the late John W. Duffy and the late Minnie Ladebu Duffy.
Bernice graduated from Lincoln High School in the class of 1944. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #212 in Ellwood City. Bernice worked in the Industrial Relations Department at Aetna Standard Engineering until retiring in 1986.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Michael Poholsky, who died on December 22, 1995. The last of her family, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Margaret M. “Peg” Duffy, and her brothers, Bernard, Eugene, and Paul Duffy.
Bernice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret M. “Peggy” (and David) Stettner, of Pittsburgh. Two grandchildren, Michael J. (and Julie) Stettner and Hayley M. Stettner, also survive, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
Friends will be received from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 12 noon on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 207 Spring Avenue, Ellwood City, PA 16117 with Rev. Peggy Suhr-Barkley, her pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.
