Vada was born 3 December 1895 in rural Ottawa County to Clarence Simeon and Maggie Alvira (Usrey) Gray. At the time of her death, she had been a Salina resident for 15 years. She was a homemaker.
She was survived by four daughters, Daisy Cooper, Rowland Heights, California; Anna Backman, Russell, Alberta Sebesta, Wilson, and Betty Beebe, Mission, Texas, three sons, Bill Mason, Blythe, California, and Elmer Mason and Jerry Roscoe, both of Kansas City, Missouri; two step- daughters, Margaret Woolverton, Rt 2, and Ethel Schneweis, 908 S Ninth; a stepson, Marion F Roscoe, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; wo sisters Nettie Rice, 216 N Oakdale, and Alice O'Neal, Greenfield, Missouri; 34 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the Ryan Mortuary with Reverend David Morris officiating.
