(Obituary) Graveside services for Mrs. John E. Blakemore, 78, Holly, Colo., former Clintonian, who died Saturday, May 18, at her home, were held at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, at 10:00 a.m., May 22. The Rev. S. Richard Wallis, pastor of the Clinton First Baptist Church, officiated and the Roberta Rebekkah Lodge conducted a committal service. Consalus Funeral Home was in charge. Funeral services previously were conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, at the Holly, Colo., First Baptist Church by the Rev. Paul McDowell. Goldie Leah Allen was born on Feb. 13, 1885, in Clinton, the daughter of George and Sarah Shankland Allen. Here she was reared and educated. She had been employed as saleslady in ready-to-wear and had worked also at one time in the Lawrence Brown fireworks plant. In 1902, she married Fred Datweiler who died in the mid-1940's. They had made their home in Clinton and they had no children. In 1957 she left Clinton for Colorado where she met John E. Blakemore. They were married that year and established their home in Holly, Colo. When living in Clinton Mrs. Blakemore was a member of the Clinton Christian Church but moved her membership to the Baptist Church when in Colorado. She was a member of the Holly Woodman Circle. She had been a member of the Clinton Woodman Circle and had retained her membership in Clinton's Roberta Rebekkah Lodge. Mrs. Blakemore, a kind, faithful wife and friend, made many friends through her lifetime--friendships she highly treasured. She spoke ill of no one and held a keen interest in her fellow man. Besides her husband she leaves two stepsons, John E., Jr., Blythe, Calif., George, South Gate, Calif., a stepdaughter, Mrs. Naomi Blakemore, Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, Ira Allen, Caldwell, Kan.; three sisters, Mrs. Fay Crouse, Rio Del, Calif., Mrs. Irene White, Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Emma Evans, Florence, Colo.; many other relatives and friends.
