Roy Newell (son of Willard Anderson Newell and Millie Buck) was born April 18, 1907 in Mason County, West Virginia, and died December 17, 2002 in Gallia, Ohio.
He married Freda Ellen Rayburn.
Roy NEWELL, 95, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia died Tuesday December 17,2002 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.
He was born April 18,1907 the son of Williard A. and Millie BUCK NEWELL in Jackson County, West Virginia. He was well known in Mason County. He was a wonderful Father who cared deeply for his family. He worked 37 years for the Marietta Manufacturing Plant in Point Pleasant, and operated a dairy. He retired as a construction pipe fitter in 1978. He was a member of the Gallipolis Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Ellen RAYBURN NEWELL, who passed away April 26,1985; his sister Ada DUNN, Eulah SMITH and Ethel SAYRE; his sons Nelson Ray NEWELL and Roy NEWELL Jr.; his brothers George, Homer and Oman NEWELL. He is survived by his brother Floyd NEWELL of Ashville, Ohio; daughters Betty Jane MILLER of Point Pleasant, and Marie E. PLANTS of Henderson, West Virginia; and sons Robert W. NEWELL of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Donald D. NEWELL of Bidwell, Ohio ; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 PM Saturday, December 21, 2002 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev Dan BENNETT officiating, Burial will follow in Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant.
