Edna Mae Baker Lear, age 88 of Hustonville Road, Danville, formerly of Berea, died Wednesday at the Rockcastle County Hospital. She was a native of Madison County, a member of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Danville and loved to quilt.
She is survived by her children, Thelma Parson Thacker of Mt. Vernon, William (Bill) Foxworth of Springfield, Ky., Johnny Mac Lear of Stanford, Ky., Homer Edward (Eddie) Lear of Danville, Ky., Joe Clinton Lear of Danville, Ky. and Mary Ann (Lonnie) Barnett of Junction City, Ky.; sisters, Hazel Blanton of Paint Lick, Ky., Lena Baker Rucker of Berea, Ky., Lucy Jones of Owensboro, Ky. and Margaret (Hubert) Lamb of Berea, Ky.; grandchildren, Randall G. Thacker, William Thomas (Billy) Foxworth, Steven Dale Overstreet, Tony Lynn Overstreet, Jonathon D. Barnett, Edna Renea Barnett, Robin E. Lear and Jamie Lear; great grandchildren, Rodney Thacker, Desiree Sargent, Austin Lawless, Jonathan Foxworth, Josh Foxworth and Dakota Foxworth. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Mary Lee Hamblen Baker; husbands, Ernest Parson and William Pear Lear; infant twins, Besse & Jesse Parson; sisters, Stella Anglin and Gladys Matney; brothers, Russell, Chester and Johnny George (Jay) Baker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lear will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 1, 2007 at the Fairview Baptist Church in Rockcastle County with Rev. Wayne Harding officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday at the Davis & Powell Funeral Home in Berea and after twelve noon Monday at the church.
