William H., C.Ss.R.[Professed as CSsR, Aug. 2, 1944, ordained priest June 29, 1949], September 30, 2013 fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church at St. Clement Health Care, Liguori, MO. Father Broker was a beloved member of the Redemptorist Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. Born in Minneapolis, MN, his first assignment as a young priest was to join the faculty at St. Joseph's College Redemptorist Seminary in Kirkwood, MO. From there he served in a variety of ministries which included pastor at St. Alphonsus Parishes in Minneapolis, MN, Davenport, Iowa and Chicago, IL. He served as Provincial Vicar for his Redemptorist Province for nine years. Father Broker was President and Editor of Liguori Publications. He served as retreat master in Wisconsin before moving to Liguori Mission House. For many years he served on the Redemptorist Mission Team based at the Liguori Mission House. Father Broker preached missions, retreats and renewals at numerous parishes throughout the United States. Services: Visitation 9:00 A.M. until Mass of the Resurrection celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 4, 2014 in the Liguori Mission House Chapel. Donations in his memory may be directed to St. Clement Health Care Center, 300 Liguori Drive, Liguori, MO 63057. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
