Services for Paul Alexander Litherland, 82, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary in Riverside. He died Thursday of congestive heart failure at Riverside Community Hospital.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 4 until 8 p.m. today.
Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Litherland, who was born in Mt. Carmel, Ill., lived in Riverside 40 years. He was a welder at Kaiser Steel in Fontana for 10 years before retiring in 1978. Previously, he was a title setter at Selectile in Los Angeles for 25 years.
He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s.
Mr. Litherland was a Mason and he belonged to the Elks Lodge Post 643, both in Riverside.
He was a Methodist.
Mr. Litherland is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Janice Green of South Bend, Wash. and Nancy McSwain of Crestline; a son, Larry of Lakewood; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Clark of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions the Elks Lodge Post 643 c/o Crippled Children's Association.
