Broker, Ann Therese (Marchessault) "Nanny" "Cookie" Ann passed away on March 8th (2015) at the age of 89. Preceded in death by husband/love of her life Henry (Bud), grand-daughter Molly Jean (Greg), son-in-law Jack, parents Armand and Irene, sister Anita, and brothers Bobby and Paul. Survived by 2 daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, cousin, sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Ann was a devout Catholic who never waived her faith. She and Bud were among the earliest members of St. Therese. She was church secretary for Fr. Shea who gave her a pearl rosary that she prayed with for 60 years. She was an accomplished seamstress, held wonderful parties, and made her home a welcoming place for everyone. She typed term papers, hosted prom dinners, taught us the beatitudes, and anchored us to all the good things in life. Ann was an avid golfer and played with her Mtka league for 35 years, enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, senior bingo in Chanhassen, liked to read, watch TV (ET favorite movie, Jeopardy), cheered for the Vikings, loved her cat Charlie, and fed the birds and animals. She lived in Minnetonka for over 50 years, and was known as the "candy lady." She led the St. Therese prayer chain until a few months ago, and was the kindest, generous, and most loving person. Ann took care of Bud for several years before he died, and never complained about her own fading health. After her death, the U of MN called and wanted to do research on her eyes for Macular Degeneration. Ann would be pleased that others might benefit from this. Go in peace mom. Mass of Christian Burial Sat., March 14, 2015 at 2 PM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 18323 Minnetonka Blvd., Deephaven (952-473-4422). Visitation for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment at a later date. Memorials preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands or family in lieu of flowers.
