Memorial services for Rufus H. Duncan, 66, of Lufkin, were held Monday, July 6 in St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church.

Mr. Duncan was born Jan. 22, 1932 in Waco and died July 4, 1998 in Lufkin. He was a self-employed contractor. Mr. Duncan served as Senior Warden at St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church, president of the Angelina County Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Development Board of the Chamber and chairman of the Upper Neches River Authority. He also served as president of the Lufkin Homebuilders Assoc. and was a board member for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Survivors: wife, Joan Norris Duncan; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane & Rick Ainsworth and Harriet and David Tamminga; son and daughter-in-law, Rufus Jr. and Marianna Duncan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Baker and Sally Duncan and Malcolm and Mary Ruth Duncan; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Jerry Trim; and 6 grandchildren, John, Leigh and Frances Ainsworth, Patricia and William Tamminga and Scott Duncan.
