Juanita Marie Seagraves, 83, of Yakima died January 8, 2016 at her granddaughter’s home in Selah, WA. She was born to Oliver and Alice Adams on April 22, 1932 in Kansas.

Juanita’s family moved to Washington when she was 8 years old. She was the youngest of 4 daughters. Juanita married Herman Seagraves in 1948. Her first daughter was born a year later to the date. She went back to school after raising her children to Yakima Business College and later worked for the Yakima County Courthouse until retiring in 1997.

Juanita enjoyed sewing, needlecraft, gardening and taking care of her house plants. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and loved to dance and play pool.

Survivors include daughters Vera (Bunny) (Rick) Bossert, Vonda (Binky) (Mike) Rizzo, Carol (Phil) Seagraves, and Joanie Seagraves-Phelps, and grandchildren Sandy, Jackie, Carl, Carlene, Kyle, Kari, Chris, Amy, Christina, Ben, Sam and Megan, 20 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild Paislee, born on Grandma II’s birthday.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Herman Seagraves and daughter Marie Anderson, and sisters Lillian Adams, Vera Tarrent and Beatrice Stansbury.

A memorial service will be Monday, January 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Shaw & Sons Funeral Directors.
