Marjorie Arlon Pier, 91, of Monte Vista, CO, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Ashley Manor in Evans, CO.

She was born January 9, 1924 in Saguache County, CO (Jack's Creek) to Herman and Margaret (Keller) Johnson. On February 16, 1951 in Alamosa, CO Marjorie married Robert Pier.

Marjorie taught for the Monte Vista School District for 37 years. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed square dancing, puzzles, traveling, fishing, and loved to spend time with her family at Jack's Creek.

Marjorie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Monte Vista, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Retired Teacher's Association.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Jay (Shawnee) Pier of Kersey, CO; grandson, Colt (Paige) Pier of Firestone, CO; and sister, Connie Schmittel of Grand Junction, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband; brother, Wally Johnson; and sisters, Merelyn Schmittel and Helen Davey.

A celebration of Marjorie's life will be on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Monte Vista United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Monte Vista Cemetery.
