Albert Veddler, 86, of McBain, died November 6 at Autumnwood Nursing Home after a three week illness.

He was born January 21, 1900 at the family farm in Richland Township, Missaukee County and married Grace Meekhof on May 6, 1921 at her parents' home. She died February 14, 1973.

Mr. Veddler was a member of the McBain Christian Reformed Church and was the only living charter member of the church. He had also served on the church consistory. He had farmed all of his working life and retired from active farming in 1970, but was still active in the operation of the family farm.

He is survived by daughter Norma Heuker of McBain; four grandchildren, Larry Heuker of McBain, Crystal (Mrs. David) Meekhof of Marion, Violet Heuker of Cadillac, Allen Heuker of McBain; four great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Myne and Josie Meekhof of Hudsonville, Albert and Sue Meekhof of Jenison, Albert and Ann Hoekstra of Jamestown, Joe and Ruth Meekhof of Maui, Hawaii, Bertha Meekhof of Brookcrest Nursing Home, Grandville.

He was prceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Funeral will be at 2 pm Saturday at McBain Christian Reformed Church, Reverend Carl Bruxvoort officiating.. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery in McBain. Tributes may be made to Northern Michigan Christian School in McBain.
