Bill was born in Dallas, Texas. Upon graduation from Rice Univ. in Houston, Texas, Bill moved to California to serve in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. Bill was an avid golfer, lawn bowler, and played bridge, poker and gin rummy. Most of all, he loved cruising the world with his wife, Hazel. Together they had some interesting adventures, the most favorite of which was their time in South Africa. A consummate joker, he developed the fine art of emailing his friends with the best and funniest jokes. He is most remembered for his humor, quick wit, and intelligence. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends. If desired, donations can be made in his name to the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Per Bill's wishes, there will be no memorial service and his ashes will be scattered at sea. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com.
