Jessie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Joseph Lario and Emily Mecedo. She moved to California as a young girl, and lived most of her life in that state before moving to Carson City in 1985.
Before her retirement, she had worked for 20 years as a machine assembler for the Singer Sewing Machine Company. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
She was survived by a son, Donald Cowden of Clearlake Oaks, California; a sister, Florence Cowden of Boston; four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
