Mr. Rufus Corrie O'Neal, 77, of Warm Springs died Dec. 17, 1996 at Georgia Baptist Meriwether Hospital.
Born Sept. 9, 1919 in Meriwether County, Mr. O'Neal was the son of the late Alvin B. O'Neal Sr. and Lucy Malone. He was a member of Alvaton Baptist Church and a retired engineering aid for the Georgia Department of Transportation.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert O'Neal, and brothers, Alvin B. O'Neal Jr. and James O'Neal.
Graveside services were held Dec. 19 at the Alvaton Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Robert Patterson officiating.
Survivors include his son, Ronnie O'Neal of Warm Springs; daughter, Nancy Bishop of Warm Springs; brother, Roger O'Neal of Alvaton; sisters, Ferris Stribling of Lanette, Ala., Joyce Melton of Woodbury; four grandchildren; and former wife, Doris B. O'Neal.
