He is survived by his daughters, Tennie Suzanne Everitt (David) and Catherine Marie Bundick (Tim), grandchildren, Kimberly Everitt Polvado (Timothy), Tiffany Bundick Valls (Laurence), Bradley David Everitt (Rhiannon), Chanda Bundick Howald (Christian), Christina Everitt Parker (Christopher), Jason Wayne Bundick, and 11 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, his parents and two sisters.
Hamilton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and attended the first Signal Corps Officer Candidate School in 1941. He was commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1942 and in that same year married his wife, Belva Catherine Bulger. He then served in the Philippines during the war and in 1946 was sent to Germany as Post Signal Officer in charge of communications. He and Belva enjoyed traveling to many points of interest throughout Europe.
In 1953 he was assigned to Korea and then later to Japan. During his military career he earned multiple medals and citations, including the Bronze Star. He retired from the Army in 1960 and fulfilled a life-long dream of becoming a rancher and returning to his home town of Victoria.
Throughout the years he enjoyed his music, hunting, fishing and traveling in their motor home. He loved the holidays, the family traditions and anytime the whole family would gather. His family will forever cherish these traditions and the memories he helped create. He will be lovingly remembered by them all.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home.
Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Burial with full military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Polvado, Bradley Everitt, Christopher Parker, Jason Bundick and Laurence Valls. Honorary pallbearers are David Everitt, Tim Bundick and Christian Howald.
