Inez Egger Whitehead, age 86, of Smiley, passed away January 7, 2016 in Victoria. She was born on December 6, 1929 in Gonzales County, Texas. Inez was actively involved in the First Baptist Church in Smiley, the Women’s Auxiliary, and the Smiley Volunteer Fire Department.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William M. and Sarah Elizabeth (Fryer) Fellers; her first husband, Jesse Egger; second husband, Chester Whitehead; daughter-in-law, Linda Egger; granddaughter, Donna Egger; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Inez is survived by her children: Willard Egger of Smiley; Billie Egger of Smiley; James Egger and wife Nancy of Westhoff; Bobby Egger and fiancé Donna Cowen of Smiley; step-children: Sidney Whitehead and Sheila Whitehead; 8 grandchildren: Bruce Egger, Becky Egger, Stacy and husband Brad Yanta, Marcus Egger, Tyler Egger and fiancé Allison Martini, Desirey Egger, Josh Whitehead, and Candice Whitehead; 8 great-grandchildren: William Whitehead, Taylor Egger, Kaitlyn Egger, Brady Egger, Rylee Egger, Kaylin Yanta, Kalli Yanta, and Brody Yanta; and 2 sisters: Opal Tumlinson and Lee Helford.

The Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with visitation held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Bundick Cemetery in Smiley.
