Her father, Ostes Thomas Largent was killed by a fall from an icy, outdoor second-story porch on 12 December 1922. Her mother, Madelyn Lydia Briggs died in 1988 at age 92.
Edith had two brothers Orval Jack (1915-1964), Ostes Thomas Jr.(1920-1956) and one sister, Juanita (1913-1988). Her brothers both died of heart attacks at a relatively young age. Juanita, like Edith, died from cancer.
Edith liked to read "who dunnits" and do crossword puzzles. Her husband, Jack, taught her how to fish and they took many camping trips together. She, Jack, her mother, Madelyn and I loved to play rounds of double-deck pinochle. After Madelyn became bedridden several years before her death, she moved to Reno, Nevada and was cared for by Edith and Jack.
There is no gravesite for Edith since her ashes were scattered in the mountains near Portola, California along with those of her second husband, John (Jack) P. Micka.
