Obituary
George, son of Andrew and Ruth Starbuck Knight was born in Guilford county, North Carolina, Dec. 22, 1803, died at the home of his son, Wm. Knight, near Seward, Neb., Nov. 5, 1898, being 94 years 10 months and 13 days old. His death was caused by injuries received in a fall about six weeks ago. He emigrated with his parents to Washington county, Ind., in 1816, removed to Randolph county, Ind., where he was married Feb. 11, 1827, to Armilla, daughter of Zackariah and Anna Coffin Hiatt.

To their union was born nine children, five of whom survive him, two sons and three daughters, Wm. and Jesse who live in Nebraska. Anna Connor and Louisa Hanes who live in Guthrie county and Ellen Robinson who lives in Dallas county. He removed with his family to Dallas county, Iowa, in the spring of 1851. On April 9, 1879, his life companion of over 52 years passed away after a lingering illness of thirty years. After her death he made his home with his grandson until March 23, 1896, when he removed to live with his son in Nebraska where he remained until his death. The interment took place at the Booneville, Ia., cemetery by the side of his wife, at 2 o'clock Nov. 7th, 1898. At his request there was no funeral sermon, following the custom of the Quakers.
