Steve is survived by his loving and devoted wife Vickie; parents Art and Mona; children Michael, Roy and Valerie; siblings Gary and Annette; and his grandchildren Mykel and Dezmond - the sparkle of his eyes.
Steve used the skills passed down from his father providing for his family. He built their family home in Valleyford, Washington, where he and Vickie raised their three wonderful children. Steve treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. He always put others before himself and was the first to offer help to anyone in need. We will always remember him as an avid outdoorsman, prize winning gardener and coin collector. His sharp wit and sarcastic outlook on life tickled all who knew him.
In his final years he spent most days with the love of his life at the home they built together. He became an avid fisherman, which brought him much joy and happiness. He was always after the "BIG FISH". On December 31st, 2015 our loving husband, son and father entered into peaceful rest. He will be forever missed by all who knew him.
Viewing Service will be held at Noxon Methodist Community Church in Noxon, Montana on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1pm MST. Burial will follow the viewing at Heron/Noxon Cemetery at 2:15pm MST. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Steve Vanek Memorial Fund. Make checks out to: Vicki Vanek, P.O. Box 1008, Spokane, WA 99210.
