Edith Marie Byrum Carter Wakefield was born April 13, 1935 and departed this life for her eternal home on January 4, 2016.
She attended Vonore Full Gospel Church and was a life-long resident of Monroe County. She will always be remembered for wonderful attitude and friendliness to everyone. She was 80 years old.
Proceeded in death by her husband of 10 years Claude Wakefield, her husband of 44 years Frank “Buck” Carter, son Freddy Carter, grandson Teddy Reagan, sisters Elizabeth Byrum & Callie Byers and parents Homer and Belle Byrum.
The family will receive friends from 11:00AM to 1 PM. on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at Forkner Chapel United Methodist Church with the funeral service to follow with Dr. Andrew Templeton and Rev. Zach Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Forkner Chapel Cemetery.
