He worked as a correctional officer for 20 years at Boonville before retiring from that position in 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Simmons; two sons, J.D. Arndt and Otis Arndt; two sisters, Fran Arndt and Brenda Waters of Marshall, MO; four brothers, Bob Arndt, Lewis Arndt, John Arndt and Harry Arndt; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Funeral Home in Columbia.
