Funeral services for Bernard Antley, 80, will be held at 2:00pm Friday, January 8, 2016, at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Downsville with Rev. Louis Bartett officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Ararat Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Mr. Antley went to his heavenly home January 5, 2016. He was a native of Union Parish and a resident of West Monroe for over 50 years. He was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, a heavy equipment operator having worked for T.L. James Company for many, many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Antley loved his family and the value of hard work. He was caring and helpful and a good listener. He loved to read the Bible and cherished his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James & Ezmel Antley and a daughter, Suzanne Antley.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Betty Ruth Antley of West Monroe; 2 sons: Bobby Antley & wife, Carla and Richard Antley & wife, Lisa all of West Monroe; 3 daughters: Sherry Walker & husband, Ron of Monroe, Shelly J. Antley of West Monroe, and Jane Phillips & husband, Jonathan of West Monroe; 1 brother, Billy Jack Antley of West Monroe; and 1 sister, Sandra Estes of Weatherford, TX; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Phillips, Nic Phillips, Bryan Beeson, Mike Antley, Richard Antley and Bobby Antley.
Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, Downsville
