Daughter of Jeptha & Charlotte Bryson Russell

Frances Russell was born in Franklin County, Indiana, October 27, 1840 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Ealley, June 21, 1929, at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 24 days.
At the age of 12 years she moved with her parents to Missouri. She was united in marriage to William Royse in Musser (Mercer) county, Missouri, March 15, 1859. To this union were born seven children, of whom three --Lottie and Fred E. Royse and Mrs. Lilly Dewitt--having preceded her in death. Those who survive are Jeptha Royse, Mrs. Florence Poole and Mrs. Mary Ealley of Howard, Kansas and Mrs. Sarah M. Barnes of Gage, Oklahoma. The husband and father passed away October 15, 1919.
Mrs. Royse has lived in this community for almost 60 years and was highly respected by all. She was a member of the Cresco Christian Church all the time she lived in this community, and was faithful to the church of her choice until her death.
Besides the children, she leaves three sisters --Mrs. Anna Schoonover of Vancouver, Washington, Mrs. Katie Thompson of Orchard, Washington, and Lizzie Bennett of Woodland, Washington-- 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her departure.
Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church by J. F. Buhalts, minister, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment in Cresco cemetery.
