Paul Gunter, age 70, of Newport, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 at his home after a lengthy illness. He retired from Stinnett's Heating and Air after 21 years of service.
He was preceded in death by father, Tom Gunter; mother, Martha "Annie" Gunter; sister, Patsy Owens and Mary Ledford; and stepdaughter, Betty Smith. He is survived his wife Bea Gunter; sons Chris Gunter and Randy (Teresa) Gunter; daughter, Kim Gunter Wice; grandchildren, Miranda Ellison, Rebecca Trosclair and Randall (Buddy) Gunter, Ricky McMahan and Derrick McMahan; greatgrandchildren, Hunter Ellison, Slate Shropshire, River Shropshire, Kaeden Davidson, Ashtyn Davidson, London Trosclair, Colton Trosclair, Erika Graham, William Gunter, Dominic Gunter, Augustina McMahan, Derren McMahan and Ethan McMahan; sisters, Martha Click and Reba Forrester and a host of special nieces, nephews, and his beloved pets Rosie, Ross and Skeeter.
The family would like to say a special "Thank you" to University of Tennessee Hospice caregivers, Laurie and Dee. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Shannon Coleman and Fred Gregg officiating. Burial will be held 1:00 pm Friday, January 8, 2016 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
