W.L. COMPTON OF FALLS MILLS DIES.
Funeral Services Will Be Held This Afternoon For Tazewell County Farmer Who Succumbed To Paralysis.
W.L. Compton, 64, well known Tazewell County farmer and lifelong resident of the Falls Mills section died at 4:30 yesterday afternoon at his home on Mud Fork. He was stricken with paralysis last Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and burial will be in the family cemetery. The Rev. Elmer W. Dean will officiate.
Mr. Compton was born April 14, 1872, a son of Hiram and Nancy Jane Belcher Compton. His wife died several years ago. He is survived by his aged father and three sons, Suel, Cecil and Clarence Compton, all at home, and the following brothers and sisters: C.M. Compton, of Beckley; S.W. Compton, of Kegley; Mrs. J.J. Belcher, of Ingleside; Mrs. W.S. Billips, of Crandon, VA; and Mrs. Lillie French, of Boissevain.
