Elizabeth Beck Black died peacefully at her home on January 3, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Black, and is survived by two children, Rusty Black (Helena) of Charlotte, NC and Betsy Latiff (Steve) of Crystal River, FL, and one sister, Lolitta Hazen of North Richland Hills, TX. Her seven grandchildren include Todd Latiff (Catherine), Amy Jones, Sam Latiff (Anna), David Black (Elizabeth), Christopher Black, Adam Black, and Jordan Blair (Hunter). Her twelve great grandchildren include Ashley Latiff, Elizabeth Jones, Andrew Latiff, Joshua Jones, Ava Black, Charlotte Black, Maxwell Black, Conner Black, Skylar Blair, Rhett Blair, Charlie Latiff, and Ben Latiff.

Becky Black was an avid Gator fan being recently recognized as one of the most long standing Bull Gators. She was a passionate gardener and long time member of the Gainesville Garden Club. Becky loved playing Bridge with her friends and recently became a master Contract Bridge player. She enjoyed her many years in the Junior League of Gainesville. Becky and Charles enjoyed cruising around the world and traveling extensively to over 21 countries. She was an avid fisherman and will be remembered by her grands as “the best grandmother in the world”. She was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Dr. Louanne Loche and George W. Holston officiating. A light luncheon will follow in the Parrish Hall. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Her graceful elegance and gentle spirit will be greatly missed.
