In early childhood, the family moved to Wenatchee, where Judy graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1953. Following her marriage in 1954, Judy moved to Seattle, where she began her career in office administration. In 1959, Judy took time to travel and eventually moved back to Seattle and married her second husband in 1962. She was employed by Cole Industrial for 25 years, where she was an Executive Assistant and Sales Administrator. Judy married her third husband in 1983 and they left the Seattle area in 1988, settling back in Everett in 1992. She then worked as a bookkeeper for the Seattle, Portland, and Bellevue Ruth's Chris Steak Houses until her retirement in 2006.
Judy will be remembered for her love of animals, music, cooking and entertaining, the outdoors and travel. Her favorite times were those spent with family and friends, hosting large dinners for the holidays, camping (still using a tent into her 70's) or attending local, state, and national events with her sisters in the Everett Elks Emblem Club as a Past President and Past Supreme Correspondent.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joyce McFarlane; and husbands Norman Vail (1959), Terry James (1980), and Richard Cirillo (2003).
Judy is survived by her daughter, Terri Elwood (Rick); sister, Jean Rasmussen (Bill); granddaughters, Sammi Anderson (John) and Alicia Elwood; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her estranged son, David James.
In lieu of services, the family will hold a private celebration of Judy's life. The family requests that memorials be made to the .
