Mrs. Josephine Williams Passed Away Sept. 12
Josephine White, daughter of John L. and Laura M. White, was born at Beloit, Kansas, July 26, 1875, and passed away Sept. 12, 1953, at the hospital at Leon, Iowa, at the age of 78 years, one momth and 17 days. While she was still an infant her parents moved to Illinois and later to Nebraska.
On May 11, 1893, she was united in marriage with Edward E. Williams. Most of the years of their long married life were spent in Nebraska, 7 of them at Arcadia. In 1935 they moved to Lamoni, Iowa, where Mr. Williams passed away in 1949. A son, Lawrence, and a daughter, Josie Lenore, also preceded their mother in death.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and adhered closely to that faith all her life. She was a patient and devoted mother; a kind and helpful neighbor.
She is survived by 5 sons, Loyal and Loren, Barstow, Calif., Bryan, Seattle, Wash., Melvin, Lansing, Kansas, and Franklin, Kansas City, Missouri, and one daughter, Mrs. J. R. Hagood, Arcadia, Nebraska, 23 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. J. B. Russell, Unadilla, Nebr., a half-brother, Grover C. Wall. Lincoln, Nebr., and a host of other relatives and friends.
Burial was at Rose Hill cemetery, Lamoni, Iowa.
